aerobic respiration

aerobic respiration: oxidation of glucose in the cell to produce energy with the presence of oxygen

  1. aerobic respiration occurs in e cytoplasm and proceed to the mitochondria...
  2. aerobic respiration occurs when there is adequate oxygen supply
  3. the main substrate of e aerobic respiration is GLUCOSE
  4. glucose is oxidised to produce co2, water and energy. oxygen is used in oxidation.
  5. each stage is catalyst by an enzyme
  6. most energy is converted to ATP from ADP. some energy is lost by heat
  7. chemical equation : C6H12O6 + 6O2 = 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy
